Pastor Billy Benson
Pastor Billy was called as Pastor at Garland Road Baptist Church on March 18, 2018. He had previously served as Pastor at Macomb Baptist Church from 2014 to 2017. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies with an Emphasis on Biblical Languages from Oklahoma Baptist University in 2009. He earned a Master of Arts (Theology) from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in 2013. He earned a Master of Theology from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in 2020. He is currently working toward a Doctor of Philosophy in Theology at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
Billy and Kari have been married since 2007. They have three children: Hannah (15), LeeAnna (13), and Caleb (12). The Benson family is also a foster family.
Pastor Billy enjoys spending time with his family, reading, and watching and playing sports. He loves Mexican food and watching the Oklahoma Sooners and the New Orleans Saints.
Pastor Billy’s pastoral emphasis includes the Great Commission and the Great Commandments. His desire is to make disciples of Jesus Christ of all nations- disciples who follow Jesus’s teaching, particularly the commands to love God with all one’s heart, soul, mind, and strength and to love one’s neighbor as oneself.
Gene Ohls
Gene Ohls has served as the Worship Leader at Garland Road Baptist Church since January 9, 2022.
Linda Belknap
Linda Belknap has served as the Church Pianist at Garland Road Baptist Church since November 13, 2019. She is a retired music teacher and counselor. She enjoys piano music in all forms, whether in the traditional hymns or in the contemporary worship songs.
Todd Ruwaldt
Todd Ruwaldt became the Interim Youth Minister at Garland Road Baptist Church on January 28, 2024. Todd is a senior at Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva, Oklahoma. He is studying Health and Sport Science. He loves all things sports and conditioning. He is passionate about teaching the Word of God to young people who are growing in their relationships with Jesus Christ.
